And listen, male or female you are a bad bitch. You’re here, aren’t you? That is the only qualifier you need.

Well, let’s just get into things, yeah?

First off. I don’t know who needs to hear this, but you are fucking gorgeous. Actually, I do know who needs to hear this: you. And even if you think you don’t – you totally do. So shhh… just listen and enjoy.

Self-love…

if you were to ask me what I wish I knew about self-love sooner, it would be that I wish I knew it wasn’t found in people, places, or things. It’s found internally. And when you chase external sources, you are on an endless hunt.

I asked some of my friends what they thought about self-love and one of my sweet friends that I met when working at free people was Katie. She is someone who shines inside and out, a damn gem, really. Also, she’s pretty badass at thrifting. Nevertheless, my girl Katie said ” It’s not selfish to take time for yourself, and wow. How true is that? and wait…it gets better. she also said that you should always speak up for yourself because you can save SO much heartbreak and stress instead of holding all of those feels in. 

One of my spell sisters, Nicole told me that it took until her 40’s to learn and apply this piece of self-love advice: NO is a complete answer.

It really is good for the soul. We need to stop feeling guilty for saying no. got it, guys?

Some of my male friends also chimed in. Social media-less David told me that he wishes he knew the advice wasn’t one size fits all because so many people would try to give him pieces of advice that just didn’t jive with his internal plans.

Meanwhile, Matt said that when he was younger he didn’t even know self-love was a thing. and now he knows and is so grateful to be on that daily journey. 

I guess if you take nothing else from what I say today, take this: you have a lot of love in your heart. And you give so much love to others…please don’t forget to give some to yourself.
