Update: Wrapped is out and you can find some of my faves below! What about you — who couldn’t you get enough of this year?!

Today’s post is going to be a short but necessary one.
A few weeks ago, I posted a since-deleted tweet about getting your life right, as Spotify would soon close the books on data collection for this year’s Spotify Wrapped.
Of course, I was kidding, but I received a few retweets and replies which were not joking.
I even received a DM saying, “I was doing the Lord’s work.”
Y’all.
That’s heartbreaking AF.
Our taste in music is one of the most intimate things about us.
And when you hear someone tell you about their favorite artist, it’s the best. Their eyes light up, and you can feel their passion with every word.
Imagine loving something so much, only to feel ashamed and hide your likes with obscure music you don’t vibe with.
I get it: Displaying your Spotify Wrapped is like social media’s Met Gala.
But I want to encourage you to embrace your taste.
Stop forcing yourself to fit in where you don’t belong.
The right people will love you, quirky taste and all.
Breaking off pieces of yourself to fit in will only make your soul bleed.
You only need one person’s acceptance – your own.
Stars are Blind is likely to be my most played song of 2021, and I have zero shame. It’s a bop.
If you’re looking to branch out, here’s what I’m jamming to as of late
