Babe, be better

In the words of the great Lisa Barlow, “You don’t have to like me. I love myself enough for the both of us.”

As an adult, you would think bullies are a thing of the past, right?

Guess again.

Listen, I get it: life is hard, and we all have bad days.

But is that really an excuse to treat people like shit?

I too could be a ruthless twatwaffle if I wanted.

And I’m a Scorpio, honey. That means if I channel that, plus my dad on a bad day, I would have you in tears.

But where’s the fun in that?

Seriously – what does one gain from being mean to people for fun, and unprovoked?

At 31, I’ve tapped into my inner zen. I worked on myself, and cut ties with all that wasn’t contributing to my inner growth.

As a result, I feel a sense of inner peace that can’t be broken. And sadly, people don’t always like that.

Misery loves company is cliche but true.

When people lack ambition, and can’t reach their dreams – they will want to keep you from yours.

And if they see you happy, something they can’t find for themselves…they will try to disrupt your energy.

But you know what?

When you know your truth, no one can shake that.

I’m a big believer in energy, as well as protecting your peace.

That means I will still love you, treat you with kindness, and not think twice about it. It does not mean we are friends, or that I’m fake. It means I am treating you like you should treat others. It means I am taking the high road because you’re not worth my energy or effort.

Hurt people, hurt people.

And if you don’t heal what you refuse to feel – you will continue to bleed on others. Including those that didn’t cut you.

Be better.
