Wheels Up! Let’s go to Las Vegas

Renowned for its luxurious resorts, world-class entertainment, and mouthwatering food, Las Vegas is easily one of my favorite places. And while many go for the nightlife and gambling, it’s also a surprisingly great place to rest and recalibrate.

This time around, I checked a bag, because no matter what anyone says, Southwest is the real MVP for allowing you two free checked bags. And when you have priority boarding, you can choose your perfect aisle or window seat — but no middle seat because who willingly chooses that spot?!

Getting my things from Harry Reid International Airport is as usual, actually a breeze especially for such a large facility.

Or maybe I just come here way too often.

Upon landing, and with my luggage in hand, I took an Uber Black to Resorts World Las Vegas and put my vacation hat on. While many come to Vegas to lose their life savings, or black out from too much alcohol – I find this an oddly peaceful place. Maybe it’s because in Vegas there’s something for everyone. And everyone truly is welcome. Being different or weird is embraced here.

And that’s the beauty of this city.

Historically I’ve always been a Wynn girl when I visit Vegas, but after staying in Resorts World, I couldn’t imagine staying anywhere else. The decor is unmatched, and let’s not forget the library of Byredo products in the bathroom. After check-in at Resorts World which was made a breeze with their mobile app, I showered, unpacked and went down to explore and do my thing.

Let me preface this Vegas recap by saying, I spent half of my trip by the pool, and at the Spa, so the list covers the essentials that I will never grow tired of.

Fun activities to do in Las Vegas

  • Meow Wolf
    • Beyond the glitz and glamour of the Strip, I discovered a hidden gem in the heart of Vegas, Meow Wolf. This immersive art experience blurred the lines between reality and fantasy. As I ventured through mind-bending installations and interactive exhibits, I found myself immersed in a world of wonder. Meow Wolf is a must-visit attraction, sparking curiosity and awe in any visitor.
  • The Neon Museum Las Vegas
    • As a passionate designer and creative, the Neon Museum in Las Vegas holds a special place in my heart. It’s one of my absolute favorite things to do whenever I find myself in town. The museum is a playground of vibrant neon signs, showcasing the unique and dazzling typography styles that once adorned the bustling streets of Las Vegas in its heyday. It’s incredible to see how typography and color were used to communicate a sense of excitement, mystery, and allure, all through the glow of crisp, electric lights.

Vegas dining options that are equal parts aesthetic and delicious

Historically, I avoid anywhere with neon lights and a grass wall. Yet in Vegas there are some exceptions which means this list will be a trusted blend of trendy and classic places to grab a bite:

  • BREZZA
    • No Vegas trip is complete without indulging in delectable cuisine, and BREZZA exceeded my expectations in every way. Located within Resorts World, this Italian-inspired eatery delivers an exceptional dining experience. I had multiple appetizers, including the octopus, and split a bottle of wine from my hometown back in Italy.
  • Vanderpump Cocktail Garden
    • As a Bravo fan, of course I stop by at least one of Lisa Vanderpump’s Vegas restaurants each trip. I have been going to Vanderpump Cocktail Garden for years and the food is consistently good, and not as expensive as you’d think. And yes, the goat cheese balls are an absolute must! While Vanderpump Paris is definitely worth a visit too, if I had to choose, I’d vote for Vanderpump Cocktail Garden any day. It just has that extra something that makes it stand out in the crowd. So grab your friends and head over for a night of fabulous cocktails, delectable bites, and unforgettable memories!
  • Tacos El Gordo
    • If you’re looking for delicious, no nonsense tacos – this is the place. Period. You can feast for under $50 for two people.

Vegas Honorable Mentions

If you’re seeking a fun getaway, look no further than this vibrant city of excitement.

Happy travels!
