Hi Bestie!

Be the Light Anyway

Today I have been thinking about the world.

Even though I try to avoid the news for my mental health, it still finds a way in. And if I’m being honest, it always does. The stories. The suffering. The constant reminder that so much feels broken, unjust, and heavy right now.

Some days it feels relentless. Like cruelty is louder than kindness. Like the worst parts of humanity are on full display while the good feels quiet and buried. It can make you wonder how much more we are supposed to take.

And yet, this is the truth I keep coming back to: Even with all of it, we must continue to be good. We must continue to do good. And we cannot afford to lose hope. Not just for ourselves, but for humanity as a whole.

We Were Never Meant to Carry This Much

We were never meant to know this much.

Our minds and bodies were not designed to absorb the pain of the entire world every single day. We were not built to witness global trauma in real time, endlessly, with no pause. That constant exposure does something to a person.

So if you feel overwhelmed, exhausted, angry, numb, or deeply sad, that doesn’t mean you’re weak. It means you’re human.

The information never ends. The suffering can feel never ending. And pretending that it doesn’t affect us, is a lie we should stop participating in.

The Weight of Caring Too Much

There’s a particular kind of pain that comes from caring deeply and still feeling powerless. Wanting to help but not knowing how. Wanting to fix things that are far bigger than you.

That feeling can be suffocating.

But here’s the part we tend to forget. You and I are not meant to carry the weight of the world on our shoulders. We were not meant to solve everything or save everyone. That responsibility was never ours to carry singlehandedly.

Do Not Let the World Harden You

Yes, there is cruelty in this world. There is real evil. There are systems and people that cause harm over and over again. And some days, it seems there is no justice.

But do not let that turn you cold.

Do not let it convince you that goodness is naive or pointless. Choosing kindness in a world of darkness is not weakness. It is resistance. It is courage. It is a refusal to become what, or who hurt us.

Being good still matters.
Being gentle still matters.
Being decent still matters.

Especially now.

The World Needs Your Light

You do not need to be perfect.
You do not need to be loud.
You do not need to save the world by yourself.

But the world does need your light.

It needs people who stay human.
People who care without becoming cruel.
People who choose empathy even when it feels easier not to.

Your light might look small to you. A kind word. A compliment to a stranger. An act of compassion. A hug to someone who needs it. But small lights add up, especially in dark times.

Protect Your Heart and Keep Going

If you need to step away from the news, step away.
If you need to protect your peace, do it.
If you need to focus on your own life and your own healing for a while, go for it.

You’re allowed to take care of yourself and still care about the world.

Let this be your reminder:

You don’t have to carry everything.
You don’t have to fix everything.
You just have to stay human.

And now more than ever, be the light.
